Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Hi everyone! Can you believe it's all ready October?  I cannot even believe how fast time seems to be flying by. So fast in fact I didn't realize it was Sketchy Saturday Design Team time again over at the Scrapoholic.  I was about to go to bed at 11:55 PM when it dawned on me that I had a sketch and blog post due for the morning. So because it was so late I decided this week to go with the card sketch.  Although I absolutely love this weeks Layout sketch. I knew I could whip up the card super fast. .
Now if you are new here, Sketchy Saturday is when Jill over at the Scrapoholic gives the Design Team a Sketch and we recreate it.  Then you can participate in the fun for a chance to win some fun prizes.  So to see what the other Design Team has created head on over to The Scrapoholic's Blog and check it out. Don't forget when you are done with your version of the Sketch to link it so we can all see all the fabulous interpretations.

Here is the Card Sketch......

Now Since I was in a complete hurry I literally used the paper and pieces that were left on my scrap table from the previous projects I had been making.
I went with a Halloween theme.

Thanks for looking and don't forget we'd love to have you play along.

Sketchy Saturday!

Hi everyone! It's Sketchy Saturday time again.  This sketch is so much fun. It is Halloween theme and I just love it! If you would like to see the other design team creations from the sketch or to participate please hop on over to The Scrapoholic.

Here is my take on this sketch....

The background paper was from Revenhead Manor Recollections Collection.
The Spider/Web was cut from Mini Monsters.
The Boo! Stamp is from Michael's $1 bin.
The spider web has silver stickles.

I made this Layout while at a Michael's Crop night with my 12 year old daughter.  So I asked her if she wanted to do a layout from the sketch with me, and she agreed.  I honestly think hers turned out better then mine did. That and she finished in way less time then me.  So I just have to share.  Hope you like, feel free to leave some love.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Don't forget to go check out the other design team sketches at The Scrapoholic and play along.

The Scrapoholics Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone.   It's time for another Sketchy Saturday Challenge over at the Scrapoholics blog.  You can take the sketch below make a page using the sketch as inspiration. Then take your sketch over to The Scrapoholic and link it. But before you do, go see what the design team has come up with.  It's always fun to see how different people perceive the sketch.

Here's the sketch....

This is what I came up with.....
I feel like it doesn't look much like the sketch. But I did start with the sketch and as the page progressed I took some things off and added some things and this is what I came up with.
The "Happy Birthday" I welded together with the Gypsy using Quarter note.
The cake is from Simply Charmed and was cut at 3 inches. I then added googlie eyes and stickles.
The tags were cut with T,B,B&M.
The zig zag on left is a punch from eKSuccess.
The background printed paper is DCWV.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look. I hope that you like what you saw and you come back again soon.

The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Hello! It's that time again, Sketchy Saturday Challenge. Head on over to The Scrapoholic to see what the Design team has created and then create something of your very own to share.
Here is the sketch we used this week.

Here is my take on the Sketch.....

For this Layout I used;

Trees=Sweethearts Cartridge
Grass= Everyday Paper Dolls
Mushrooms= Cindy Loo
Dragonfly and butterfly = punches.
I used Peachy Keen stamp set, Simple Sallies
I sewed around the photo to add a little texture.
I inked everything from the grass to the side of the page.
I added stickles to the punched art and did some doodling.

There is a lot of dimension in this Layout I hope that you can see it with these photo's.

Well that is my take on a great sketch.  I would love for you to give it a try and then share for us all to see.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday and Holly smokes, Where did the last 2 weeks go?  I cannot believe how fast time is going.  I've been crafting, but apparently not blogging. Besides my new blog look, I will show you what I've been up too in the next couple of days.  But for today it's Sketchy Saturday!  If your not familiar with sketchy Saturday,  Jill over at the Scrapoholic post a Sketch, one of a card and one of a Scrapbook Layout. Then you take the sketch and  create a card or Layout.  That easy!  Then you link it to Jill's blog, The Scrapoholic for a chance to win prizes and so that everyone can see your take on the Sketch.

This weeks Layout Sketch.....

My interpretation of the Sketch with a Back to School Theme.....

The background paper is from the DCWV Grade School Glitter pack.
The different school themed paper were out of my scrap box.
The "First day of school" is from Locker Talk cut at 4"
I used my sewing machine for all the stitching.
I added a couple random tags/ribbon.

Well I hope you liked and I hope that you play along.  So head over to Jill's page and see what you can come up with.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to say hi.

The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Saturday everyone. I made it back from 5 days of camping in the mountains.  It was absolutely amazing.  As much as I missed everyone and everything here at home, (Showers, toilets, blogger etc...) I do kinda wish I was still there.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Anyhow, today is  another Sketchy Saturday Challenge hosted by Jill over at The Scrapoholic. So head on over and see what the design team has created then grab the sketch and play along.

Here is the sketch...

Now after I finished this layout I didn't think it was really a lot alike.  But that is what a sketch is all about right? I used the sketch for inspiration.  In the sketch I saw lots of swirls surrounding photos.  So that is how I made my sketch.  I love this green I think it looks really pretty with the black and white.  The background paper is from All Dressed up by DCWV. I used the Home Decor cartridge for all the swirls.  You can't see it in this photo but I did glitter up the white swirls with Martha Stewart Crystal colored glitter

Now as I have said before, I really love seeing all the different interpretations of a single sketch.  How I perceive it can and usually is completely different from how someone else might view it.  So please go give it a try.  Then link it so we can see it.
Thanks for stopping by, Hope you come back again real soon.

Now I know Easter has come and gone and Beach is more appropriate for the season but I've done so many summer themed project all ready this year I really didn't have anymore photo's.  So I chose Easter. Since I needed to scrap them still and I could get the tittle to work like the sketches.

On this LO I used DCWV background Easter paper from one of the spring packs.
The Easter basket is cut at 3" from Doodle Charm.  I added in the Eggs. I covered each one with glitter from Martha Stewart.
The grass is from A Child's Year
The Tittle is cut from Martha Stewart's All Occasions Cake Art.

The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Independence Day to everyone out there celebrating today. I'm so thankful for this great country that I live in and for all the men and women who sacrifice so much to keep us free.  I try to teach my children patriotism and gratitude for those who fight to protect us and keep us free.  We took the kids this year to the annual Air Show out on the Marine Corp Air Station.  They got to go inside and see what they fly and what they wear and were even able to talk to a few of the Marines/ pilots about what they do.  It was a lot of fun. When I saw this weeks sketch and it being Independence day I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Here is the sketch.....

This is what I came up with.....

For the Stamp cut frame I used French Manor.
The stars in the corners were from Home Decor
The dog tags are from Stand and Salute
The 2011 is from Quarter Note
The Air Show font is from Sans Serif which was welded together on the Gypsy.

Thank you for looking now it's your turn to give this sketch a try and once you do head on over to The Scrapoholic and link in your version of this sketch for a chance to win blog candy!

Scrapoholic's Sketchy Saturday Challenge.

Happy Saturday everyone! Today is the Scrapoholics Sketchy Saturday Design Team Challenge. So head on over to the The Scrapoholic  to see everyones work and then give it a try yourself.  Don't forget to post your LO so we can all see it.

Here is this weeks Sketch...

It's baseball season at our house right now so I used this sketch as an opportunity to get some "baseball" LO's done.  I printed my own photo's and it gave me a thumbnail option so that is what I used to make the small photo's for the LO.
For the Baseball down the side I used my Gypsy.  I took the Quarter Note Cartridge and welded the words together.  Then I took an image from Home Accents and welded it to the beginning and to the end of the word to make it stretched out.
The baseballs were cut from Everyday Paper Dolls.  I then added some red stiching to them with a red marker.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back again soon!!

The Scrapoholic Sketch Saturday

Hello Everyone it's Sketchy Saturday Challenge time again.  I had alot of fun on  this weeks Sketch and I think you will too.  So head on over to The Scrapoholic's and check out the teams fabulous work and then link up your project so we can see what you've got.

For my Layout, instead of using the circle center that I cut out I used the outside border and put aside the circle for another time. I used the new cartridge pre loaded in the E2 Cricut American Alphabet. I backed the frame with white cardstock for the White center. I added a black strip down the side a couple of photo mats and used a clear stamp set made by Recollections for the sentiments and clocks.

Thank you for looking and please give this sketch a try, the possibilities are endless.

The Scrapoholic's Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Hello Everyone it's that time again, Sketchy Saturday over at The Scrapoholic Now every couple of weeks Jill will post a scrapbook Layout sketch and a card sketch that you may use to create your own page or card. Then you can link it to her page and share with everyone. Keep in mind 2 words...blog candy.

The Scrapbook sketch this week was a 2 page layout...

I decided to go with a beach theme. I am still catching up from last summers pictures. The pictures aren't turning out anywhere near what the actual page looks like. I've tried different lighting and still the photo's really don't do justice to the bright brilliant colors of these layouts.

I used all papers from American Traditional Designs "Beach Fun" pack.  The ribbon is from the Beach "Summer" ribbon from DCWV.  I used the I-rock for the little blue/orange bling.

Thanks for looking and please go check out every ones sketches and give it a try.  I love to see all the different interpretations of each sketch.  So until next time, Happy Crafting!!

The Scrapoholic's Sketchy SaturdayChallenge

Hello Everyone!! Today is the first day of the Sketchy Saturday Challenges over at The Scrapoholic and my debut as a Design Team Member. I hope you will head over and check out every ones projects and play along.

Here is the sketch that I used:

This is what I came up with...
For the Swirl border on the left I used the Martha Stewart punch around the page.  The circles and flowers were also punches. I used the basic shape in my Imagine for the large pink shape under the flower line. Then doodled black around all the pink.

I added a little extra and decided to sew on the page. I sewed down the left side and across the rick rack.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Don't forget to head over to The Scrapoholic and see all the great talent and play along I'd so love to see every one's sketch.
