I saw these little wood boxes at Michaels the other day and I thought that it would be cute to use as a file box for greeting cards. Well I didn't buy it. But then for the next few days I kept thinking about the simple little box. Well a couple days later I'm back at Michaels (imagine that). Everything I bought was on sale and I needed something to use my coupon on. So I went and grabbed the little box for $5.99 minus 40%. This is what I did with it.
I painted the box with a plain white paint. Made some tabbed dividers. Made a monthly birthday list and added cards.
I used the Simply Sweet Cartridge for the tabs. I used some itty bitty lit Studio g Alphabet stamps to label each tab. Then did some basic doodling.
For the cards I used a lightweight chipboard and covered it with pattern paper. I could've decorated them a little more but wanted to keep it simple. Besides they won't really be seen, other than the tabs.
The Birthday list I made with a plain sheet of paper. I drew Lines and stamped each month on it.

I had this really ugly box that I found up on a shelf the other day that I have had for years. I bought a whole bunch of greeting cards and they came in the box. Well I don't use store bought cards anymore so I donated them to Goodwill and kept the box. I have been trying to find a storage solution for all the handmade cards that I've made. I make them in several different sizes so to find a container (that was cute) to fit them all was really hard. So when I found this box I decided to re decorate it. Now I love it it's perfect.

Now you can't tell really well with these photo's but for the Butterfly and the letters I used DCWV glitter paper. The top of the box I used the Martha Stewart all occasion cake art cartridge. Then with Gypsy welded the "cards" together with opposites attract. The back of the box I used Base Camp. The paper was from the Flower Shower paper pack also by DCWV.
