The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Independence Day to everyone out there celebrating today. I'm so thankful for this great country that I live in and for all the men and women who sacrifice so much to keep us free.  I try to teach my children patriotism and gratitude for those who fight to protect us and keep us free.  We took the kids this year to the annual Air Show out on the Marine Corp Air Station.  They got to go inside and see what they fly and what they wear and were even able to talk to a few of the Marines/ pilots about what they do.  It was a lot of fun. When I saw this weeks sketch and it being Independence day I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Here is the sketch.....

This is what I came up with.....

For the Stamp cut frame I used French Manor.
The stars in the corners were from Home Decor
The dog tags are from Stand and Salute
The 2011 is from Quarter Note
The Air Show font is from Sans Serif which was welded together on the Gypsy.

Thank you for looking now it's your turn to give this sketch a try and once you do head on over to The Scrapoholic and link in your version of this sketch for a chance to win blog candy!

I have a little confession to make. I would've probably never ever bought the French manor Cartridge (well besides the fact that it's exclusive to Cricut Circle). Don't get me wrong it's nice, just I guess not my style, too fancy, something not sure what exactly. But then I joined the Cricut Circle and this cartridge arrived. So I've really been trying to learn to love this cartridge. So this is what I came up with. I used the I-rock to attach the gems. I used the Imagine for the bird and the Expression to cut the black scalloped oval (also from French Manor Cartridge.) Thanks for looking!
