Sketch Saturday Design Team Challenge

It's that time again, Sketchy Saturday Challenge.  Head on over to The Scrapoholic to see what the Design team has created and then create something of your very own to share.  Here is the sketch we used this week.

Here is the Layout that I came up with.  Now I usually give my self plenty of time for a Layout.  I will take a look at the sketch a week or so before and run idea's through my mind through out the day.  Sometimes I will have great ideas and I will come home and put together a page. Then there are times I struggle with ideas. Well with this one I had an all day out of town field trip to go on with my daughter on Monday.  Well that still gives several days, so I thought.  I woke up on Tuesday sick as could be and I keep thinking it's going to get better and well no.  I can only be up for a couple hours at a time and then I'm exhausted and have to go lay back down.  So I did this Layout in shifts.

The Easter eggs and "Easter" tittle was cut from Designers Calender. The eggs have a touch of stickles.  I went with Easter for the obvious reason, we just had Easter and I have photo's to scrap.  I went to print out my pictures and well of course I was out of ink...Grrrrr! Well, with me being sick, I wasn't up to doing anything about it so for now I left the photo's off. The pink w/ white polka dots paper came out of my scrap folder and the Happy Easter ribbon is from DCWV the spring Adhesive Easter ribbon. Then using doodle charm I cut 3 bunny's and added some googlie eyes.
I know it is really plain and lacks details but honestly I'm excited that I was even able to do this much. I think this is about all I've done all week besides sleep, oh and watch HSN Launch the E2. So thanks for stopping by and don't forget to give this Layout a try.

My Entry for the Provo Craft E2 Contest

I could not believe somehow I never heard about the contest Provo Craft was holding for the E2.  I read about it at work on Tues the 19th of April.  I had to try and win one. You were allowed 3 entries. So that night the goal was to make 3 Layouts.  Well I don't just whip up Layouts, I take forever.  So I was only able to enter one.  I took it the post office on Weds. the 20th.  They had to be in Provo Crafts office by 5 pm on the 22nd so I paid Extra shipping to get it there on time.  I had just gotten the Mini Monster Cartridge so I decided to use it.

I've seen many of the entries all ready and it puts mine to shame but it was fun to enter and I can't wait to watch it all on HSN.
Thanks for stopping over to look and if you've entered to win the E2, Good luck!!

Happy Birthday card for a sweet little girl

Happy Thursday which is our Friday this week. Yay!!  Here is a card I made for my neice who is turning 9 this month.  I hope she likes it!

I used Twinkle Toes for the dancer girl. The oval shape was cut using the Imagine the basic shapes.  I used the Happy Birthday and dotts cuttlebug folders to add the texture to the back grounds.  Then the sentiment is from inkadinkado punched out with a eKsuccess punch. Then added a ribbon with a button.

Then I made an evelope to match. Makes it that much more fun, i think, to get in the mail. Hope you like it Kelsey. Happy Birthday!!

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for some Easter cards and my entry in the Provo Craft E2 contest.

The Scrapoholic's Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Hello Everyone it's Sketchy Saturday Challenge time again.  I really loved this weeks Sketch and I think you will too.  So head on over to The Scrapoholic's and check out the teams work and then link up your project so we can see what you've got.

For my Layout I used the Martha Stewart punch around the page loops.  I then used the Home Decor cartridge for the swirls and added some crystal swirls.  I used a pre set image on my Imagine for the little sign.  I stamped in white Family,  wrote in the "my" and doodle with my white pen.  I added a couple pieces of ribbon and that is pretty much it.

Thank you for looking and please give this sketch a try.  I love to see all the different takes on one sketch.

Best Wishes Without a Cricut

I made this card I swear in like 5 minutes.  I printed the Best Wishes on white paper from the Computer using Edwardian Script ITC at font size 85.  Cut a piece of Heidi Swap paper down to 6 1/2" X 5".  Added the Sentiment paper, some ribbon and used the i-rock for the bling.  Then inked the edges with black.  I wanted to use black satin ribbon but ran out so white it is.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you come back again soon!

Binder Clip Photo Holders

I love to make party favors, Invitations and really any kind of handouts, as do a lot of you I'm sure.  This particular one I hadn't done before.  It was suggested to me to make these binder clip photo holders.  I had never done or even seen one done before.  But after seeing a picture of what they were looking for I got started.  It really wasn't hard as you will be able to see in the video. A little paper, some bling and Walla!

Thanks for looking and watching, Hope you come back soon!

Shrinky Dinks and the Imagine

Well this picture really just doesn't do this justice and I didn't realize it till I had all ready given the bracelet to my Niece. I made this cute little bracelet using shrinky Dinks and my imagine.
Pretty simple really, you just need the Shrinky Dinks. You create the image on the Imagine. You want to make it rather big because it does shrink down quit a bit.  I believe I did 1 3/4".  Then when you print them out you want to flip the image. Make sure you punch a hole in the top using a standard size hole punch BEFORE shrinking them.  Then once you have baked them as directed on package you put on the jump ring and hang them on a bracelet. This bracelet match her card and her gift bag and (I think) was a big hit.

Thanks for looking!

My Birthday Cake!

So those of you who have been following me know a while back I won a Martha Stewart edition signed Cricut Cake from HSN on Twitter.  Well I tried to use it once to make sugar cookies and well to be honest it was so frustrating that I put it away and have not gotten it out again.  Well this past week was my Birthday and who better to make a cake for then myself. That way when I royally mess it up nobody cares.  My kids will eat anything chocolate regardless of what it looks like.  I've always been pretty good at cake decorating with the tips with butter cream icing but have never tried fondant.  So I gave it a try and it was really hard for me. I really think I need to stick with paper.  But I played with it for awhile until it was ok, not perfect but ok.  I bought those Cricut frosting sheets and used the pastel pack.  They were easy to cut, they cut like paper and to be honest with you, tasted like paper. I probably tried to go too fancy too soon because we did a 2 tier cake.  I should probably start simply and move up.  That is probably what I will do from now on.  But here is the finished cake and to be honest with you this was the BEST tasting cake I think I've had in a long time.

The tiers are, if you can't tell from the photo are a round cake on top of a square cake. The thing is I did the fondant right over the whole cake and I probably should have done one cake and then the other.

The top blue flower got smashed because I thought that since I had to walk away from the cake for awhile that I would throw  a towel over it to keep it from drying out.  Well it made it really moist and that particular flower turned to mush. Owell live and learn and I've sure learned alot on this project.  Any tips are welcomed with open arms....just saying.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I didn't scare you away with this monstrosity of a cake...lol and you will come back again soon.

Happy Spring!

Happy Spring everyone!  I think we skipped spring all together this year because we've all ready hit record triple digits. Yep it was 101 here all ready.  But I guess that's what you get when you live in Arizona.  It just means we hit the River early this year.

I'm doing a Spring theme card swap and this is the card I came up with.  I love this new cartridge, Kate's ABCs.  I used my Imagine for the the entire card, from the background paper to the girl cut.  I love that the Gypsy now has the Imagine option on it.  I went in and created it all in my Gypsy, stuck a white piece of paper in the Imagine, pulled out all the right colored pieces and put together.  It really is nice to not have to piece different color paper on your mat or to have to cut different layers at different times.  With the Imagine you cut everything all at once. I love it!!

Any how, enough about the Imagine/Gypsy.  For the "Happy Spring" I used a Inkadinkado $1 stamp.  The Ink I used was a cocoa color.  Now the first couple of cards that I did I did in Pink. But I didn't think that it looked right so I switch to brown.  I would love to hear your thoughts on whether the pink or brown looks better.

Thanks for dropping by and for your opinion, pink or brown?

The Scrapoholic's Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Hello everyone it's that time again. Sketchy Saturday over at The Scrapoholic's
In case you are unaware every other week Jill at the Scrapoholic post both a Card and Scrapbook Layout sketch. This challenge is for everyone to participate in, so please play along.

This week I was able to do both the card and Layout Sketch.

For this card I used the cuttlebug for the swirl and the polk a dot texture.  I added black eyelets to the scallops on the top with a purple flower and the Best Wishes was cut out using Cuttin up.

Now onto the Layout

This Layout was really fun for me because we have 3 boy dogs and well we found this little girl dog and she is just absolutely adorable.  I spoil her rotten and was so excited to be able to scrap her in pink.  It's kinda a sad story. My hubby was on a job at a customers home and this little puppy kept following him around.  He  asked the customer who's puppy it was and she said that she didn't know that she had been wandering the streets for the last week.  Well at the time (@ 6 weeks ago)  She was so super scrawny and tiny. She looked to only be maybe 6-8 wks old.  Well look at those eyes, he had to bring her home. He left his card with the customer in case someone came looking for her.  Well about a week later that customer called him to let him know that they found out where she came from.  Apparently a couple houses down the people were foreclosed on and they left a litter of pups in the house.  Two of the puppies had passed away and there was a male pup that went to the neighbor and somehow our little one got out and that's how we got her.  We named her Penny because she was lucky to be alive and we were lucky.  You know the saying, "find a penny, pick it up. All the day, you'll have good luck." So this is the story behind my Layout.

I didn't do anything really special.  I followed the sketch pretty much as it is.  The tags came from a Fiskars  punch. The Penny on the tags are rub-ons from scrapworks. The background paper is Heidi Swap and it had this black scallop flap attached right onto it so it worked perfect for this sketch.

Well thanks for looking now head on over to Jill's blog and play along.  I can't wait to see what you create!
