The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Saturday everyone. I made it back from 5 days of camping in the mountains.  It was absolutely amazing.  As much as I missed everyone and everything here at home, (Showers, toilets, blogger etc...) I do kinda wish I was still there.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Anyhow, today is  another Sketchy Saturday Challenge hosted by Jill over at The Scrapoholic. So head on over and see what the design team has created then grab the sketch and play along.

Here is the sketch...

Now after I finished this layout I didn't think it was really a lot alike.  But that is what a sketch is all about right? I used the sketch for inspiration.  In the sketch I saw lots of swirls surrounding photos.  So that is how I made my sketch.  I love this green I think it looks really pretty with the black and white.  The background paper is from All Dressed up by DCWV. I used the Home Decor cartridge for all the swirls.  You can't see it in this photo but I did glitter up the white swirls with Martha Stewart Crystal colored glitter

Now as I have said before, I really love seeing all the different interpretations of a single sketch.  How I perceive it can and usually is completely different from how someone else might view it.  So please go give it a try.  Then link it so we can see it.
Thanks for stopping by, Hope you come back again real soon.

A few more Imagine Cards

Hello everyone! I should still be camping, if blogger is posting correctly.  But I made a few more cards before I left that I wanted to share.  I used  my girlfriends cartridges.

This card is from Imagine More Cards. I hate taking any kind of credit for these cards.  I feel the Imagine does all the work.  I just put it all together.

Get Whale soon...haha get it? I know I'm a dork but I love this one.  I added some stickles on the whale.  Doesn't it just make you smile?

Here's another one that is fun.  Since I borrowed this cartridge from a friend I couldn't link it onto my gypsy and create the actual card in the same shape as the front of the card.  So I tried to make it similar.  I would do it different next time but for now it'll have to do.  It's bright and happy.

Now here is another fun card. I'm telling you I love this cartridge.  All these papers were printed from the Imagine More Cartridge.  Again can't take the credit. The Imagine printed everything out and I just put it all together. Oh and well added a little bow.

I've done all these cards and a few more in probably a couple of hours. I love these cartridges and this machine.
Thanks for taking a look, I hope to be home tomorrow!

Happy Anniversary to my Sweetheart!

Today my hubby and I celebrate our 15th Wedding anniversary.  Unfortunately we won't be able to spend it together because I will be up in the mountains camping for the week.  But I made him a card and gave it to my son to give to him while I'm gone.

The background paper is from DCWV All Dressed Up paper pack. The heart with the couple silhouette is from Sweethearts along with the Happy Anniversary. I did emboss the heart with the Polk a Dot Cuttlebug folder. Then added some ribbon and a bow.
I hope that the hubby likes it and that he knows how much I love and miss him.

Happy Birthday Little Bro!

Today my youngest brother turns 18.  I wanted to make him a age/gender appropriate card.  He's been going out with his buddies a lot lately fishing so I went with a fishing theme.  His favorite color is green. I embossed the green back ground with the Polk a dot cuttlebug folder. I did some inking and doodling and stamped the sentiment with black ink!

Thanks you for stopping by and taking a look, I hope to see you back again soon.

Happy Anniversary!

Today starts a long week of Birthdays and Anniversary's.  Today is my parents 36th Anniversary.  I think it's very admirable for marriages to last, especially these days.  I needed a card in like  10 minutes because I ran out of time to be elaborate.  I know super duper simple but they are a super simple couple and they have to like it because I made it for them, right? LOL

Paper is from my scrap collection, as is the ribbon. I cut the Happy Anniversary out of Beyond Birthdays. I then inked the edges a little and that's it. Super simple.
Thanks for taking a look. I have a birthday card for tomorrow (If blogger posts as scheduled). I hope you'll come back and take a look.

I think your sweet and I Whaley Love you.

Hello everyone! I've been so busy getting ready for girls camp. But I wanted to get a few things posted before I go and also I'm scheduling a few things to post while I'm gone.  I have found though that Blogger doesn't alway post my scheduled blogs so fingers crossed Blogger will cooperate this week and if not well I will see ya next week.
Here are  a couple cards I made with my Imagine.  I barrowed a girlfriends Yummy Cartridge and Imagine More Cards Cartridge.  I absolutly love these and will for sure be getting them for myself.

The first card here is done with Yummy.  I backed it with pink paper embossed with the swirl Cuttlebug folder.  I inked the edges with brown ink.  I added a couple jewels with my i-rock. The sentiment is from one of the $1 bins.  I then added stickles to the cherry.

This next card is from Imagine More Cards.  This makes card making rediculously easy.  The hardest part was making the scallop shaped card in the Gypsy but I did that while everything in the Imagine was printing and cutting.  I did cut it in layers and pop dot it ,even though it's hard to see in the photo.  This is a must have cartridge as well.

So these are my cards for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you come back again soon!

A "Yummy" Happy Birthday!

HI! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day, I know I am.  I'm getting ready to go to girls camp for 5 days. But during the time that I am gone I will have missed my 15th Wedding anniversary, my little brothers 18th birthday and my Sister in-laws birthday. So before I go I have got to get cards made and out for delivery while I'm gone.

I have a friend who just ordered her Imagine.  She got 4 Cartridges with her bundle, as did I. But she got 3 different cartridges then I did.  She let me barrow a couple that I didn't have. The Yummy and Imagine More Cards.

Here is the Birthday Card I did for my Sweet Sister in Law.  The cupcake is cut in layers from the Yummy Imagine cartridge.  I stickled the sprinkles in different colors.  The background Polk a dot paper is from Colorbok Memories made easy photo mats book. I used a Fiscars tag punch for the tag. The Happy Birthday and Celebrate were stamped from a Michael's sentiment clear stamp set.

Well that is all I have time for for now but I have many more to share so stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by

Heartfelt Thanks

I made this card for a fellow blogger, Laurie from Hiding In My Craft Room.   She was giving away the Hello Kitty Cartridge.  I commented and I couldn't believe it but I won!  I was so thankful and just wanted to let her know that I absolutly appriciated her generosity. She is very talented so take a few minutes to go check our her blog.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon!

Birthday Wishes

Here I go again with this cartridge.  Even the same style card. But I love it!  I can change up the background paper and change the womans clothes.  It's almost like playing dolls again. (In a wierd paper kind of way).  But, all kidding aside, I really love the Forever Young Cartridge.

The Card size is 5x 6 1/2
Pink zebra paper is from the All Girl Recollection paper pack.
The Woman is cut from Forever Young, Her dress from a scrap.
Ribbon is Celebrate is Basic Satin ribbon.
The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you back again soon!

The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Saturday everyone. It's another Sketchy Saturday Challenge hosted by Jill over at  The Scrapoholic .  So head on over and see what the design team has created then grab the sketch and play along.

Here is the sketch...

Now I totally changed this sketch up.  I looked at it before I left for a crop.  Then did the layout at a crop.  So I did it completely by memory.  Which apparently isn't too good.  I knew I was going to do School Days instead of the Summer days.  It has some familiarities.

The argyle paper is from the DCWV School Glitter pack
I cut the tags from TBB&M
The Lettering is from Base Camp.
The Pencil is from Simply Charmed
The Apple is from Locker Talk stamped with Peachy Keen (Simple Sallies 1 1/8)
The strips on bottom are Martha Stewart paper borders.

It really is amazing to me to see how different a Layout can turn out by looking at a sketch. I love to look at other people's interpretations of sketches so please play along.  There is a Card Sketch and a Layout Sketch so if you don't do Layouts give a card a try. Once complete link it on Jill's blog so we can all see.
Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you back again soon!

A Classic!

Hi everyone! I've got time for quick post. We are off to see the Harry Potter Premier, I'm so excited.
I made this card for my uncle for his birthday.  It seemed fitting for a guy, so I hope he likes it.

Card size is 5x6 1/2
Paper is from DCWV
The car is from the Cars Cartridge.
The circles were embossed using the cuttlebug
I inked the embossed paper, added some Twine and
stamped Happy Birthday.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Sweet girl!

Hi everyone! Today was my sweet daughters 12th Birthday.  As I'm sure many of you understand, I can't believe it's been 12 years.  She volunteers at a place called Saddles of Joy.  It's a place where Autistic and disabled children and adults can go to ride horses.  She absolutely loves horses. In fact we got her her very first real horse saddle for her birthday.  Her favorite color is purple and she like Polk a dots.  All these were inspiration for the creation of this card.

For this card I used the Gypsy. I used Twinkle Toes for the shape of the card.  I welded them together in the Gypsy to make the shape card.
Card paper is Martha Stewart cut at 5x5"
The purple layer is DCWV, the Metallic Stack cut at 4.74x4.53
The horse is cut from Four Legged Friends at 3".
The Birthday sentiment is from Michael's cut out with the Fiscars Scallop oval punch.
The ribbon is Offray brand.

This was the first time I'd used the Four Legged Friends Cartridge. I think this cartridge is  kinda weird but the horse I think turned out pretty good.  She loved the card and that is what was important.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you come back again soon.

Hoot Hoot Hooray

This was such a fun Layout to do.  I've decided to make all my Cricut cuts larger for my Layouts and so far I really like how they are turning out.  This owl is from Hoot n Hollar. The Hoot Hoot Hurray is from Straight from the Nest.  I embossed the white using the swirl Cuttlebug folder.  The background paper is from DCWV.  I added Journaling later to the little blue square on the bottom right.

Thank you for dropping by and stay tuned for more Larger cuts on Layouts!

The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge!

Happy Independence Day to everyone out there celebrating today. I'm so thankful for this great country that I live in and for all the men and women who sacrifice so much to keep us free.  I try to teach my children patriotism and gratitude for those who fight to protect us and keep us free.  We took the kids this year to the annual Air Show out on the Marine Corp Air Station.  They got to go inside and see what they fly and what they wear and were even able to talk to a few of the Marines/ pilots about what they do.  It was a lot of fun. When I saw this weeks sketch and it being Independence day I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Here is the sketch.....

This is what I came up with.....

For the Stamp cut frame I used French Manor.
The stars in the corners were from Home Decor
The dog tags are from Stand and Salute
The 2011 is from Quarter Note
The Air Show font is from Sans Serif which was welded together on the Gypsy.

Thank you for looking now it's your turn to give this sketch a try and once you do head on over to The Scrapoholic and link in your version of this sketch for a chance to win blog candy!

Flower Power!

Hi everyone! I wanted to do a quick post to show you this flower bouquet that I made. I teach children ages 3-11 at church and we will call on them occasionally to participate.  Well there have been several instances where we've hurt a child's feelings because we didn't call on them.  It's not that we didn't want to call them it's just that there are too many children and we cannot call on everyone.  So I made this bouquet of flowers and on the back of each flower has a child's name. That way when it is time to call on a child we pick a flower.  That way it's the luck of the draw whether or not they get called.

The cartridge I used for all the flowers is the Forever Young.
* I took shush kabob skewers and painted them green.
*Fill flower pot half way with green plant Styrofoam
*Added the little glass rocks on the top to hide the Styrofoam.
*Painted the pot Red and added a ribbon with a bow.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you come back again soon.

Happy Birthday lil' Sis!

Hope everyone is enjoying your weekend.  It's going to be a HOT one. Looking to be 117 today.

I made my little sister a card for her birthday.  She was a flower girl at my wedding almost 15 yrs ago and she'll always be my little sister. Her favorite color is green and she loves frogs so I was thinking create a Critter.  But then I realized she isn't the little girl anymore. She is turning 21.  So I wanted to make her a card fit for a young women.  What better cartridge than Forever Young. So this is what I came up with.

*The Card size is 5 1/2 x 6
*Covered card with black card stock
*Green paisley paper is from the Sweet mat stack
*Woman is from Forever Young Cut at 5"
*Dress cut from green scrap then ran through cuttlebug Polk a dot folder
*Sign is cut from Cricut American Alphabet at 2"
*Happy Birthday stamp
*The 21 is from Forever Young cut at 2"
*Then added some ribbon.

Thank you for looking. Hope you all have a fabulous Holiday weekend and stay cool.

It's A Girl!

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I have a baby card to show you.  My girlfriend just had a baby girl.  I know what your thinking, "Why is the card blue"?  Well she absolutely hates pink.  She's not a girly girl herself and she said she wouldn't put her baby girl in pink.  So I thought why would I do a pink card.  I love the Nursery Tails Imagine Cartridge and I've been trying to use my imagine more lately.

The plaid background paper is from DCWV.
Card Size is 5 1/2x6 1/2
Giraffe is cut using the layer feature at size 5.25"
The It's A Girl sentiment was printed in blue from computer then punched with Fiscars Scallop Oval punch.
I then inked the edges with blue ink and
added a green ribbon with a bow.

I added a piece of light blue paper on the inside punched the corners and used another cut from Nursery Tails and stamped Congratulations.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit my Blog. I hope you enjoyed and that you come back again soon.
