Get Well soon ~Donald and Daisy

Ok who else absolutly LOVES the Disney cartridges? I do! Well who else also hates these cartridges? I do! Yes I have a love hate relationship with these darn Cartridges.  I love the cuts but all the little details seem to take me forever to put together.
I wanted to make a card for a friends little boy who just had his tonsills out.  It took over an hour to do the Donald/Daisy cut.  So as simple as this card might look it was very time consuming. But if it puts a smile on his face it will be well worth it.
I layered a polk a dot paper and a plaid and used a zig zag stitch to attach them together and well add something else to this all ready seemingly plain card.
I stamped Get Well Soon with Blue ink. The stamp is from Hero Art.

Thanks for looking.  If anyone has any tips on how to make these cuts a little easier feel free to share. ;)

Ice Cream Sundae Appreciation

I haven't done a Teacher appreciation gift in a while. If your just tuning in and wonder what the gifts are for, I make them for the teachers we have in Primary at church.  We had each teacher including music, fill out an about me paper.  Then we take one every couple of weeks and highlight that teacher.  We then give them the gift bag with the clipboard and the little composition notebook.  It's just our little way of letting them know how special they are to us and to help all the kids get to know the teachers a little bit more.

The Gift bag started out white.
* I punched with the Martha  Stewart double loop punch down the  sides of a piece of black paper.
* Then topped it with the red paper from DCWV the Extreme pack
* Added some black Satin ribbon and a bow
*Then attached the Ice Cream Sundae cut at 6" from Sweet Treats.

To make The Clipboard I bought the Clipboard at the $1 store.
*Paper is from the DCWV Extreme Paper pack
* I cut the Sundae from Sweet Treats at 5"
* Ran the White ice Cream through the Cuttlebug using the Polka Dot folder.
* I used Garnet colored Martha Stewart Glitter for the Cherry.
* Inked the edges of board in black and doodled on Ice Cream.

The Small Composition Notebooks measure at 4.5"x3.25". I also get them at the $1 store in a pack of 3 .                           * The paper is from scraps from the clipboard and the small Ice Cream I cut at 3 inches.                                                    * The "Notes" is cut from vinyl. I cut a whole sheet of them a while back so they were all ready.
This particular spotlight was our Pianist.  Her favorite color was Red and her favorite food is Ice Cream.  So we try to make there gift according to the things they like.

Well that is all I have for you today. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look, I hope to see you back again soon.

Sparkle and Shine!

Hi everyone hopefully everyone is staying cool. It's so so so hot here and  this week is going to be a scorcher.  Thank goodness for A/C.
I was at Michael's the other day and I noticed that they had a few cartridges on clearance.  I've wanted the Forever Young cartridge for a really long time.  I could have picked it up when it went on sale several times but I just didn't.  But when I saw it on clearance and there were only 2 left I thought I better get it before it gets too hard to find.
I was so excited to make something with this cartridge.  I also bought from there $1 bin, a stamp that said, "Sparkle & Shine".  So I put the 2 together and this is what I came up with.

*The paper is from the glitter Sweet Mat stack from DCWV it's the 4.5"x6.5" size.

*The girl is from Forever Young cut at 4.5"

* For the dress, I used a scrap from my stash added a flower and used the i-rock for the jewel.

* I used black satin ribbon for the bow.

* Stamped the sentiment then punched out with the eK Success punch and added jewels with the i-rock.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I love love love this Cartridge so I have a feeling I will be using it a lot.

It's Officially Summer Blog Hop ~ Day 2

Welcome back to day 2 of the It's Officially Summer Blog Hop.  I am so grateful for everyone who stopped by yesterday and left comments.  It's such a blessing to have all my fabulous followers.  Without you we probably wouldn't blog.  Also a huge shout out to Jill over at The Scrapoholic for hosting a fun Hop and all the talented ladies who made projects to share. It's been an honor.  If you didn't start with Jill and you would like to hop from the beginning click HERE

Today's Project I did a card.  I participate in a card swap each month and this is the card I made for the month of July.  When I think summer I automatically think Sun.  The cut I used for this sun is from the new E2 preloaded cartridge Cricut American Alphabet. I then ran it through the Cuttlebug Polk a dot folder.   The base color looks blue in the photo but it's actually purple.  I used the cuttlebug and embossed it with the swirl folder.  The little guy I cut using Cricut Decals.  I thought he was perfect for summer holding the ice cream.

I added some twine and stamped smile on red paper and punched out with a circle punch.  So there you have it.  Each card will come with a red envelope.

Again leave a comment with your blog address I would love to come see your work.

Your next stop on the hop is over to the talented Jackie.
If you get lost along the way I've included a list of all the stops. Thanks again for hoping by!

It's Officially Summer Blog Hop!

Welcome to the It's Officially Summer Blog Hop! I would say it's definitely officially summer.  It's suppose to be 113 degrees here on Wednesday. What better way to spend time keeping cool then to be inside nice and cool participating  in a blog hop.  If you came here from Debbie then you are in the right place. If you just stopped by my blog and would like to Hop along from the beginning then hop on over to  Jill, the Scrapoholic.

As I have mentioned before I live in Arizona and we live rather close to a couple Lakes and Senators Wash.  It's only about a 30 minute drive.  We spend as much time there as possible.  For today's hop I did a scrapbook double layout with photo's from one of many River trips.

This was a LO that was put together using one of the Creating Keepsakes Kits I had purchased a long time ago on QVC with Lisa Bearnson.

The sentiment was perfect! PLAY That's what summer is all about.

Here is  the second page to the LO.  I added my own Ribbon which is across the middle and added the Day in the Sun sentiment from the H2o Cartridge in the center.  I then stamped the year on the upper right

So that is it.  I hope you liked it. Please feel free to leave a comment. Leave me your blog address and I will visit you too.  Don't forget to check back tomorrow for day 2 of the hop.  I will have a new summer themed project for you to see.

Your next stop on the hop is over to the talented Jackie.

If you get lost along the way I've included a list of all the stops. Thanks again for hoping by!
