Here's my project I created for this challenge:

I love Rub-on's, well at least I did.  I would buy them anytime I could.  Mostly from HSN or QVC.  I think I just loved to collect them.  I have a huge drawer full of them so this challenge was perfect for me.  I hadn't used them in a long time and I really need the extra space.
This picture really doesn't do the rub-on lamb justice.  It's all sparkly and soft, I just love it.

I also decided to apply a rub-on to the front of the envelope. Then a sentiment to the inside.   I can't believe I had forgotten all about my Rub-on's seriously super easy and quick.

What is in your forgotten stash?
Don't forget to play along and attach your project below!
Thanks for looking, see ya back again soon.

Here's the NIGHT project I made...

Slumber parties are for the night, right?

I made this a gate fold style card in pinks, blacks, whites with a touch of Zebra.  The Invite seemed a little boring so I added some Perfect Pearls Mists to make it sparkle.
I don't know if you can see it but I also dry embossed lines on the outside of the front of the card, just for a little texture.

 Now on the inside......

Now the inside is blank but that is were the Who, What When Where and Why would go. I added the Please come to the inside of the Slumber Party Circle.  I think it turned out pretty good.
Who wouldn't want to recieve an invite like this?
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look and if you'd like to play along....

The Procrastinated Birthday Gift.

Hey Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend, I sure did.
Do you ever know you have to do something and you think about it all the time and you see the deadline is creeping up, sometimes pretty quickly?  Well that would pretty much sum me up in a nutshell.  I know it's not good and I hate the feeling at the last minute rushing around so I'm really working on fixing this bad habit.   But I let this happen to me again this past Friday.  I'd known about my nieces Birthday Party coming up on Friday evening and I knew I needed to make her her gift and I even had a day off during the week and I just never did it, Ugh!  So Friday after work at 4 PM ( party is at 6 PM and I have to take my daughter to a school function at 5 PM)  I get started.
I've mentioned it in a few post how when I'm doing a Cricut cut I like to make extra and put them away for later.  Well this is one of those times it came in handy.  I have a whole bunch of Critters from the Create A Critter Cartridge all ready cut and ready to go.
She said that her favorite colors were Red and Blue and she liked animals so.....

I made her her own room sign.

I didn't want to just make her the Room sign because I was going to make one for her sister later and I didn't want her to feel bad.  So I took a Clip board and a mini composition notebook and covered them really quickly with the left over paper from the sign. I know super plain but I was in hurry!

Then I wanted to be able to present her gift cute and one of a kind.  So I decided to personalize her gift bag.  I Took again some of the scraps from the Sign, took a Martha Stewart gooey punch to the red and added some animals and here's what I came up with.

I think that she really liked it and I know I got tons of comments on the bag.  I keep thinking about how much more I could have done had I not waited till literally the last minute! Well it all worked out and next time I'm thinking I will start a couple of days before the party.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look, Please come back again soon!

Baby

Hello and happy Sunday!

Today is General Conference for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Twice a year we hear from the Prophet and the leaders of our church and it's broadcast onto the BYU Channel (for DIRECTV).  I look forward to this time each year and really enjoy the council that they give.  If you are interested in hearing from our great leaders you can watch it live and recorded at http://www.lds.org/general-conference/watch?lang=eng.

I made this card a while back and wanted to share it.  I made it for a challenge and after I made it I realized it really didn't fit the Challenge theme so I ended up not using it.
I can always use baby cards though.  It seems I never really have any extra of those laying around.

  • Size is A6
  • Paper is from DCWV
  • Blocks are from 9 Months Cartridge
  • Black scallop circle is from Lacey Labels.

Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #38

It's that time again! Challenge Time!
I love a good challenge and let me tell you for whatever reason this weeks Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge was a challenge.  It sounded so fun when I first read but as I started thinking about what I wanted to create I was stumped.

So this weeks Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #38 is "Recess" So create a project using a play theme.
What was your favorite thing to play at school recess?

Well honestly I think my favorite thing was probably the monkey bars.  I remember doing all kinds of "cherry drops" and flips and crazy things.  But I wasn't sure how to incorporate that into my project.  So my next favorite thing was probably the swings (I liked to go real high then jump off).  Again couldn't think of any project ideas.  I don't have a lot of Cartridges with playground equipment on them, at all.  So I decided to go with a baby theme and do blocks.  Blocks goes along with the "play" theme.  Well when I went to post the project I realized it was play at recess, ugh.  So back to the drawing board.  I found several cute images on the A Child's Year cartridge.  I decided to go with the girls holding there dolls and playing.  I do remember running around the playground with my friends just playing tag or whatever.  I don't remember having a doll or teddy bear (just for the record, lol) but you get the point.

So here is what I came up with.....

  • Card size is  5 x 6 1/2"
  • Paper is from DCWV Stack 5
  • Girls cut at 2.75" from A Child's Year

This weeks Sponsor is........
Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps with Wild Horses Stamp & Sentiment Set (shown below)

Isn't that a cool stamp set? I love it!

Now if you haven't make sure you head over to the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge blog to see what the other design team has come up with.  They are absolutely amazing talented ladies. Then make your favorite recess project and link up for a chance to win.

Good luck and we'll see ya again soon!

Stamping Notebook

Hello Hello! Today I wanted to show you a little way that I try to keep track of stamps.  I'm not completely sure it's worth the time spent yet, but it looks really cute on my desk...LOL.
I tend to pick up a lot of those $1 bin stamps on my way out of the big craft stores.  But when it comes to using them I never remember what I have.  Then for me to go through them all just turned me off from finishing my project or I ended up using one that I had close at hand and probably use all the time.  So thats when I decided I needed an organized way to know what I had.
Now this is just for those $1 stamps not for the PK, SU or any of those.

  • I cut 2 pieces of Chipboard down to 4 1/2"x6 1/2"
  • Covered them in printed paper.
  • The Daisy was cut from Mickey and Friends but was just laying around in my all ready cut pile so I'm not sure what size, same with the pink Circle.
  • Then I stamped on it Stamp.
  • For the inside paper I used 4x6 Index cards with no lines.
  • I used the Cinch to punch the holes and to add the notebook rings.

  •  Now on the inside I made dividers for different subjects.  I probably could have done more but ran out of space.

  • I then carelessly and quickly stamped the stamps in the right divided area.

So yes I know I will see the stamp and know which one I want to use but will still have to go through the drawer full of them. I have them divided in the drawer the same way they are divided in the book so hopefully it will make things a little easier.  I'm really trying to use the supply's I have on hand and not to purchase new. I will let you know how it works out.

Thanks for stopping by, please come back again soon!

Deepest Sympathy

Hello, It is with a heavy heart that I write today.  A good friend of my daughters went to tell her dad something in the garage and found him on the floor.  Come to find out he had had a heart attack and passed away.  He was young in his late 30's early 40's.  Our heart is just breaking for this girl and her family.  Another reminder at how precious life is and that we really never know when it's our time to go.  This girl is extremely strong for she went to school 2 days after the passing of her father.  Full of tears of course but I think the support of her friends is what she needed and a support they have been.  My daughter came home and asked if we could make a card to put into a gift basket they were putting together for her.  Well even though nothing we say can take away that loss she must feel I hope that this card will help her to know how many people have her and her family in our hearts during this hard time.

The Front of the Card  I bought a paper pack along time ago and I don't know what it was or where I even got it but this paper came from that pack.  The flowers are from my flower stash and the sentiment I printed off the internet and cut out with my eK Success punch.

The inside is a bouquet of flowers.  The girls father's favorite color was blue and her favorite color is pink and she loves bling so I added stickles.  The cut is from the Kate's ABC Cartridge.

This is the third fold of the card.  I didn't get a great photo but it is rather plain.  You'll see a pocket on both sides of the card with several tags tucked inside.  This is where the students in her class will sign.  Each can pull out a tag and write something to her.

The back of the card is also plain.  I used paper that kinda spoke on its own.

That's my never ending card for today.  I hope  that it will bring her a little comfort.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you come back again soon!
