The Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge

 Hello! It's that time again, Sketchy Saturday Challenge. Head on over to The Scrapoholic to see what the Design team has created and then create something of your very own to share.
Here is the sketch we used this week.

Here is my take on the Sketch.....

For this Layout I used;

Trees=Sweethearts Cartridge
Grass= Everyday Paper Dolls
Mushrooms= Cindy Loo
Dragonfly and butterfly = punches.
I used Peachy Keen stamp set, Simple Sallies
I sewed around the photo to add a little texture.
I inked everything from the grass to the side of the page.
I added stickles to the punched art and did some doodling.

There is a lot of dimension in this Layout I hope that you can see it with these photo's.

Well that is my take on a great sketch.  I would love for you to give it a try and then share for us all to see.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Post it Note Clipboards

TGIF! It has been a long week and I am so thankful it's almost over.  I think I had mentioned earlier that I did my first "craft Show".  I wanted to show a few things I had made to take.  I made these little Post it note Clipboards.  I took my own chipboard and cut down to square and used the corner chomper to round the corners.  I've also seen where people have used coasters.  In fact I was at my local $1 store just yesterday and they did have square coasters in packages of 6.
Once the chipboard is done you simply place a post it on top and clip on a binder clip.  Yep that easy.
Now this clipboard I just covered the binder clip to match the board.

This one here I added a flower that I attached using the hot glue gun. Then added some ribbon.

There are so many different things you could do with these cute little boards. Thank you for taking a look, please come back again anytime.

Another Forever Young Card

I needed a quick card for a classy lady and first thing I think of is Forever Young.  It's kinda funny though, because once I finished the card. I realized that she has no clothes on. LOL I forgot to put clothes on her.  I added a flower to her waist but no clothes.  My daughter said it looked fine and I agreed so I just left it.   The card size is 5 x 6.5.....The border punch is Martha Stewart.... The Happy Birthday is stamped with a Michaels stamp....The pink paper is from the Recollections All Girl paper pack.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you will come back again soon!

Altered Cassette tape cases

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you my most recent Goodwill find.  Every month, Goodwill has a 50% off day.  I love this day!  Well this time they had a bag of 14 empty, clear old cassette tape cases. They were only $1.99 and with the discount $1.  I have been preparing for my very first "craft fair".  So when I saw these I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.

I made a couple business card holders!

I used a long scrap from my scrap pile.  I ran through the Xyron machine and adhered all the way around one side of the holder.  Then on the front I added some flowers.

The possibilities are endless. I went with flowers but I have so many more ideas. Now if you you don't over decorate the front you will be able to close up the cassette case to store you business cards.

So if you have a Goodwill close by go check it out.  You never know what you might find. Happy Hunting! Thanks for taking a look. I hope you come back again soon.

Minnie Teacher Appreciation Gift

It's been a long while but it is time for another Teacher appreciation.  If you haven't read my "teacher appreciation" post before, we do a teacher spotlight at church in our primary.  We take a teacher every month or so and we spotlight them.  Then I make these little gift bags and put a clipboard and a mini composition note book in it.  This teacher, her favorite color is black and her favorite vacation spot is Disneyland.

For the Gift Bag:
I used a plain white gift bag and covered it with black w/ white polka dot paper from my scrap pile.
Using the Martha Stewart Loop border punch I punch black paper for the border.
I added some basic black ribbon
The Minnie is from Mickey and Friends.  I then added stickles to the bow and shoes.

For the Clip board:
Found these little clip boards at the dollar store.
I covered in the same black w/ white polka dots
Then just added a smaller Minnie

Small Composition Notebook:
These great little books were also at the dollar store but in a package of three.
I covered in black polka dot paper.
I added a strip of white paper to add a little color.
Then using pop dots I added the Minnie.

Well thanks for stopping by,  I can't wait to see you again soon.

Scrapoholic Sketchy Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday and Holly smokes, Where did the last 2 weeks go?  I cannot believe how fast time is going.  I've been crafting, but apparently not blogging. Besides my new blog look, I will show you what I've been up too in the next couple of days.  But for today it's Sketchy Saturday!  If your not familiar with sketchy Saturday,  Jill over at the Scrapoholic post a Sketch, one of a card and one of a Scrapbook Layout. Then you take the sketch and  create a card or Layout.  That easy!  Then you link it to Jill's blog, The Scrapoholic for a chance to win prizes and so that everyone can see your take on the Sketch.

This weeks Layout Sketch.....

My interpretation of the Sketch with a Back to School Theme.....

The background paper is from the DCWV Grade School Glitter pack.
The different school themed paper were out of my scrap box.
The "First day of school" is from Locker Talk cut at 4"
I used my sewing machine for all the stitching.
I added a couple random tags/ribbon.

Well I hope you liked and I hope that you play along.  So head over to Jill's page and see what you can come up with.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to say hi.
