LID Challenge-09/03

I really loved the sketch this week. In fact I will probably refer back to this sketch a couple more times. For now though this is what I came up with. The paper used was from the Colorbook School paper pack. I used a border punch for the white scallop and Making the Grade Cricut Cartridge for the 4th Grade cut. I also added some sewing to add a little more.

The i-rock by imaginisce (R)

Ok so I've heard so much about this i-rock by Imaginisce (R). I decided I wanted one. Then when I found it at Michaels for $14.99 and had a 40% off coupon uh ya I had to get it. Then a couple of days later I went back with another 40% off coupon and got the Jewels. There are a ton of little jewels in here all of a variety of different sizes.
So once I got home I couldn't wait to try out my newest tool addition. I didn't take the time to do a new project I just took my most recent scrapbook page and added bling.

My last post has this same page with no bling and here is the new page with bling. Doesn't it add so much. I love it and look forward to blinging up so much more.

LID Challenge

I didn't use much Cricut on this LO. I used the Martha Stewart all occasions cake art Cartridge for the scalloped circle but that was it. I then used my crop-a-dile to punch the holes. The scallops down left side were cut with the large scallop scissors.

Back to School 2009

I'm a little behind but here is last years Back to School page. Jaidens polo has skulls on it, hince the inspiration for the skulls. That and going back to school is just so dreadful, it's rough being a kid.
I used the Indie Art cartridge for the skulls and printing 101 for the Back 2 School.

This weeks LID Challenge

Over on the http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/ they have a posting for the LID Challenge. LID stands for Laying it Down. It's a weekly layout challenge. This weeks sketch comes from http://sketchythursdays.blogspot.com/2010/07/729-sketch.html Basically a sketch and sometimes 2 sketches are posted. Anyone is welcome to participate. All you do is take the sketch and do a layout as close to the sketch as you can. It really is neat to see all different takes on a layout. If you ever get scrap block this is definitely a great idea to get your creative juices flowing. I find it motivates me to at least complete one layout each week. Here is my take on this weeks challenges.

Sketch Challenge

I use these sketch challenge to really jump start my creativity. Sometimes it works and well sometimes it doesn't. I used the Martha Stewarts all occasions Cake Art cartridge for the border. I didn't have any paper dark blue enough so I decided to take on the embossing powder.

Now I started by stamping the border with the embossing ink pad but it just wasn't doing it so I just got a paint brush out and painted the embossing ink on and followed it with the glittered embossing powder.

I did the same thing with the corner swirls from Home Accents cartridge and the Sea World which I used base Camp.

Martha Stewart Cricut Cake

So for those of you who didn't know Provocraft and Martha Stewart joined forces and created a Martha Stewart Cricut Cake. They debuted it on HSN on July 19th. Well I am a HUGE HSN fan as well. I get way too much stuff from HSN. I love them. Well I'm also on Twitter and I follow HSN. Well the day of the MS Cricut Cake debut HSN tweeted that they were giving away a couple Signed (yes I said signed) Martha Stewart edition Cricut cakes. So of course I re tweeted it and never thought another thing about it.

So the next morning I wake up like usual grab my phone check all my e-mails and Twitter updates. I have a mention? Hmmm who's mentioning me? It was HSN. I won!! I had won a Signed Martha Stewart Edition Cricut Cake. I'm so completely excited and thankful. To me the Cricut cake is something I would totally use if I had it but couldn't justify purchasing it right now. So I send them a DM and I think within a week I had a package on my front porch. I still can't believe it. It even came with the Martha Stewart's all Occasions cake Art Cartridge. Thank you Martha Stewart, Provocraft and HSN!
