Crop Night

So I decided to attend a Scrapbooking Crop for the first time in probably 5 years. I always stay home and scrapbook. I've got way to much stuff to try and figure out what to bring. But I decided I needed the interaction with other crazy addicted scrappers like myself. It really was a lot of fun and I was able to get more done in one night than I ever would have done at home. I just have way too many distractions at home. So here are the pages that I was able to get done...

This LO here I'm super excited about. The picture just doesn't do it justice. I know it's super plain but the back ground which I call paper lace I made with my Gypsy. I took several shapes from the Home Decor Cartridge and welded them all together to get this one big cut. I would post the file here but to be completely honest with you I haven't figured out yet how exactly to do that. So just let me know if you want it and I will e-mail it to you.

So I know that they are really basic pages but with the amount of catch up I have to do I've been trying not to spend too much time on each layout. So I'm making them quick and too the point, for now anyways.

Fun Times!

This is the first page of the River Season. This day we went out with some Friends who had Jet Skies. I don't know why I didn't have any jet ski pictures but I didn't. (next time)

For the Fun Times I used the Making the Grade Cartridge and for the Arrows I used the Going Places Cartridge. Then the circles I used the George and Basic Shapes.

Forever

I used the Home Decor cartridge for the flourishes and the forever.

Multiplication Flash Cards

The kids are at that age where it's time to start memorizing their times tables. They are constantly asking me, Mom whats 9x6 or what's 7x4? It's not that I don't want to give them the answers but they need to memorize them. I can't always be there to give them the answer. So I made this little flip book with the multiplication problem on the front and the answer on the back. I admit that it is pretty simple and boring but it gets the job done. So now whenever they ask I tell them to go look in there book. Now they can quiz each other and hopefully get them all memorized.

Step Card

I needed a Birthday card for my Mom (in law). But I wanted something different. I saw this great new (well new to me) style of card. I thought I have to try this. Well it was easy to make but the decorating and color scheme is what got me. Well at least this night. I find some days to be better than others. But for now this is what I came up with.

This is the view of the card from the side.

Fathers Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there and especially to my great husband and father of my beautiful kids. I always make the hubby a card and every year it's a challenge to try and out due the card from the previous year. Well this year I saw this card on the Cricut Message boards and thought it was perfect. I used the Wild Card Cartridge for the front of the card. The card itself I just cut out a rectagle and rounded the corners.

The inside of the card of the card I added two layers of paper for pockets and used the sewing machine to stitch the corners.

Then I added a couple pictures of the kids. I really think that he liked it. He thought the saying in it was cute.

My Craft Space

I feel truly blessed to have the space that I can have my very own room, devoted to crafting. It's a neverending challenge to find the right storage for everything. I love to see other work spaces to get ideas so I thought I would share mine in hopes that maybe someone else might get an idea. Scrapbooking is my passion but it has spilled over into card making and then into paper crafting in general. Then Home Decor and even sewing. Although, I use my sewing machine for paper more than I sew fabric.

I got all the cabinets at Lowes. They arn't standard Kitchen size but like the size you'd find in a laundry room or maybe a garage. Then for the counter top I just bought a nice piece of plywood and had it cut in half. Then I coated it with gloss that I purchased at Michaels.
I have plenty of room for my Cricut, cuttlebug and printer on the counter tops. Plus I have my computer moniter and Xyron Wishblade. Here in this photo I have some ribbon storage. Oh and you can't forget the TV. And though you can't see it but under the Counter top is my DIRECTV HDDVR. Then there is storage room on top on the cabinets as well.

Here is the long cupboard and next to it my Magazine stand. Comes in handy for all the Scrapbook/card making magazines I get every month. Problem is it's all ready full. You can kinda see on the cupboard more ribbon storage.

Oh and how could I forget the fridge stocked with Diet Coke. What's a scrapbook room with out lot's of Diet Coke to help me stay awake while scrapbooking late at night.

Teacher Appreciation

Every year in appreciation for the hard work and patience that my kid's teachers give I make them a mini album of each student in there classroom. I've made a different one each year. So this year I had to get creative. I remembered a matchbook style card I had made a few months back for a friend and thought I could add pictures inside and it would be perfect. It actually did work out great.

There is a little flap in the front that tucks in to keep the album closed.

The inside I used eyelets to attach the paper that I mounted the photos on

I think they were a hit. I always wonder if a teacher wants to remember the kids, lol. I'm sure they do. Well this is the last year that I have to do 2 books. Shellsea is moving up to jr. high next year. Now I have to keep an eye out for a new idea for next year.

Broken Window

Jaiden had his last baseball game and it happened to be on his Birthday. His Uncle Tom and Grandma came down from California to watch the game and celebrate his birthday. Uncle Tom brought Jaiden a "plastic" baseball bat and ball. Well while we were at work Grandma and Tom took the kids home. Well when I get home I noticed the back door window was all taped up. Come to find out Grandma and Jaiden were playing baseball IN THE HOUSE! Who does that? It was funny actually and we needed a new door anyways. Grandma said she could check 2 things off her bucket list. One was breaking a window and the second was breaking one of Deans windows.

Your Story

I got a YourStory machine back around Christmas and I haven't used the binding part yet. I didn't really have anything really to use it for. I've used the laminate part several times. I got 4 books in the 4x6 size. Two in black and two in white. These were the perfect size for this project.
I took a photo of each student in each of the kids class. Then I put each picture on it's own page and binded them into the book. Now the kids can take the books to school and have each of there friends sign there books. Kinda thought it would be a fun thing for them to have and look back on.

Tri Shutter Card

So I've seen these really cool cards around everywhere and so I wanted to try one myself. It just happen to be my baby sisters Birthday and another Sister's Graduation so I had the opportunity to try them out immediatly. Here is the very first attempt.

I used the Cricut DoodleCharm for the cupcake and the G&BS for the name. Then the cuttlebug for the dry embossed flowers. I embossed the cupcake and letters with a purple glitter embossing powder.

I really liked the first Tri Shutter card I had to try the second one. What better than a graduation card. I used the Cricut for her name and the cuttlebug for the dry embossed dots.

Graduation!

My Sister Graduated From High School this Month. Wow how old do I feel. She was 3yrs old when I graduated High School, the same High School might I add. She is a beauty and has a bright future ahead of her. I'm so proud of you Kristy.

Newport Beach

We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to travel out to Newport Beach this year for Memorial Day. We had family with a Beach house for the weekend which made it really nice.

In the mornings we got up and walked the beach looking for sea Shells. There were Dolphins and even A Sea Lion later in the Morning. Jaiden didn't want to get up so he didn't end up walking with us at all but Shellsea for sure was up and ready to go. She needed this time with just us and with her daddy.

We did all the normal "Beach" stuff I guess. We played in the sand, walked on the peir and played in the water. Well the water part, not so much. It was still really cold. Dean and the kids got wet but me just my feet. I don't do well in cold water. I'm a true born Arizonian. I don't like to be cold. The high temp for the day was only like 68*.
